Manchester United in the fray for Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique
Manchester United are monitoring Real Betis star Luiz Henrique, who has ‘caught the eye’ of several top clubs around Europe, according to ABC Sevilla via Sport Witness (h/t Express).
The Red Devils have made a ‘discreet follow-up’ regarding the 22-year-old. We have previously enquired about acquiring the Brazil U20 international’s services in the ongoing transfer window.
Henrique is ‘well noted’ by the scouting department of the Old Trafford side. However, the La Liga outfit are not looking to part ways with their star in January.
The Estadio Benito Villamarín are instead keen on keeping hold of the youngster and developing him further. They are hoping to increase the 22-year-old’s value to sell him in the coming future.
Betis see the Brazilian as a ‘diamond in the rough’. Los Verdiblancos are expecting a huge payout in the future and ‘rubbing their hands’ at the prospect.
Henrique joined the La Liga outfit in the summer of 2022 from Fluminense. In the current campaign, the versatile right-winger has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish club, scoring three goals and providing five assists.

In the previous transfer window, United signed Antony from Ajax. The 22-year-old reunited with Erik ten Hag in Manchester and has been a mainstay on the right-hand side of our attack.
However, we do not have another quality left-footed winger in the squad. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Alejandro Garnacho all play on the left wing.

Therefore, it seems like a wise option to get a hold of Henrique’s signature. However, with Betis unwilling to sell and other clubs in the race, the Old Trafford side need to make sure not to pay over the odds for the forward.
