Arsenal and Newcastle United eyeing move for Manchester United target Alejandro Balde
According to Metro, Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United are eyeing move for Manchester United target Alejandro Balde with Manchester United also interested in the Spanish left-back.
Manchester United were linked with a move for the talented Spain star for a while before it emerged that Barcelona were likely to hand him a new deal and keep him in Catalunya. Since then, the links have died down.
However, reports from Spanish publication Sport have claimed that La Liga’s strict wage gap means Barcelona are unable to renew the talented Spaniard. Both the club and the player are keen to renew but the Spanish club have not find a solution yet.
This has gotten other clubs interested in this situation. It’s a rather bizarre one to be honest and if Barcelona are unable to find a workaround to renew Balde, one of the Premier League clubs could benefit from this.
Having priorly been interested in Balde, it is highly likely that Man United register their interest once again if he becomes available. The talented player would fit in well in an Erik ten Hag system and will be a huge player for the future.
If Balde indeed reaches a situation where he has to leave Barcelona, Man United might hold an advantage in the race with the player himself saying this to Mundo Deportivo on TikTok last year.
“A club other than Barcelona? United”
Balde has shown in his very short career so far that he has a lot of potential and also has the application to play at the highest level at such a young age. However, playing in the Premier League is a complete different proposition.
We have seen so many players in the past coming from foreign leagues and struggling to adapt to the intensity of the Premier League. Being just 19 years old, there is a chance that Balde can also go through a similar phase of adaptation.
Man United need to look at their squad and analyse if they actually need another left-back. They do have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as regular options. Brandon Williams is still a United player. The talented Alvaro Fernandez also must not be forgotten.

Barcelona are likely to find a way to try and keep Balde. They are likely to do so and considering the options Man United have, missing out on him will not really be a bad thing.
