Randal Kolo Muani January transfer ruled out with Eintracht Frankfurt eyeing £80 million amidst Manchester United interest

Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have ruled out the departure of Randal Kolo Muani in the ongoing transfer window amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg on Twitter (h/t Express).

The France international’s form has attracted the eyes of plenty of top clubs, including the Red Devils. However, it looks like a deal for the forward will be difficult.

While Die Adler are not looking to sell the player in January, the German side are willing to listen to offers in the summer of 2023. However, Oliver Glasner’s team are expecting no less than £80 million for the 24-year-old. There is no release clause in his contract.

Kolo Muani also has his own ambitions. The forward would like to stay at Frankfurt. But if he were to leave, the French national would prefer a move to either Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund.

The 24-year-old has been impressive in the current campaign for Die Adler. In 23 appearances in all competitions, the striker has scored eight goals and has provided 11 assists.

Kolo Muani also shone for France at the 2022 World Cup. The 24-year-old had the opportunity in the dying minutes to win the golden trophy for Les Bleus in Qatar. But Emiliano Martinez pulled off a brilliant save and Argentina won the prestigious tournament.

United’s forward line has lost a bit of depth with the untimely exit of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 37-year-old was starting to get more opportunities under Erik ten Hag before the mid-season break.

Now, Anthony Martial is the only natural striker at the Dutch manager’s disposal. But the 27-year-old has struggled with injuries this season. Surely, bringing in another attacker would make Erik ten Hag’s life easier for the remainder of the campaign.

Therefore, the Red Devils seemingly need to add another centre-forward to their ranks. However, considering the enormous price tag Frankfurt have put on Kolo Muani, it would be wise to opt for other options.
