Youssoufa Moukoko considering Borussia Dortmund renewal or Barcelona move amidst Manchester United interest
Barcelona ‘believe’ Youssoufa Moukoko is considering renewing with Borussia Dortmund or moving to Camp Nou amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Sport (h/t Mirror).
The Blaugrana are confident that the 18-year-old has only two options in his mind regarding his future. With the youngster’s contract expiring at the end of the season, he is set to become a free agent in the summer of 2022.
Xavi’s team know that the Germany international is keen on playing for the Spanish giants. However, a move in the ongoing transfer window has been ruled out.
In the Premier League, apart from the Red Devils, Chelsea and Liverpool are also eyeing Moukoko’s signature. But it seems the youngster is leaning towards a move to Barcelona if he does end up leaving BVB.
The Blaugrana currently have a host of talent up front. However, Memphis Depay is in the final year of his current contract. But Xavi can also count on Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati in the attack.
As for United, with the untimely departure of Cristiano Ronaldo midway through the campaign, the club do not have many options in attack. Anthony Martial is the only natural striker in the squad.
Marcus Rashford has had to play in the number nine position on several occasions this season. The 25-year-old has done relatively well, leading the goalscoring charts at the Old Trafford side in the current campaign.
Moukoko is one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga at the moment. The 18-year-old has scored six goals and provided six assists in 22 appearances in all competitions this term. While he is far from the finish piece, there is enough to suggest that the German international can develop into a key player.

The youngster has a long way to go in his career. Whether United are able to get the youngster in the coming transfer windows remains to be seen. Landing him would be a shot in the arm in Erik Ten Hag’s Old Trafford rebuild.
