Atletico Madrid offered £3.5 million by Manchester United for Joao Felix loan move
Manchester United have ‘made an offer’ of £3.5 million to Atletico Madrid to bring Joao Felix on loan to the Old Trafford side in the ongoing transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Relevo (h/t Mirror).
Apart from offering the fee, the Red Devils are also willing to cover the Portugal international’s entire wage for the period of the temporary move. However, Los Rojiblancos want around £11 million to let go of the forward for the rest of the campaign.
United are also looking to bolster the front line. However, Atletico’s demands could scupper any potential deal. But if the 23-year-old were to leave the La Liga outfit, they are eyeing a move for Real Betis star Borja Iglesias.

The Red Devils lost Cristiano Ronaldo midway through the season. As a result, Erik ten Hag is not left with many options to play in the number nine position.
Anthony Martial is the only natural striker in the squad. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old has struggled with injuries in the current campaign. But thankfully, the France international has been fit to start in our recent fixtures.
Marcus Rashford has also been deployed up top on several occasions by the Dutch manager. The 25-year-old has done well leading the line. He is currently the club’s leading goalscorer this season.
Felix signed for Atletico in the summer of 2019 from SL Benfica. However, the Portuguese star has failed to replicate his form in the Spanish capital over the years.
While the 23-year-old has not lived up to expectations at the Madrid-based club, he shone for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup. The forward was a key player for Fernando Santos in Qatar as they made it to the quarter-finals.

However, Felix does not seem to be the answer to United’s issues. We evidently need a number nine. And while the 23-year-old is a versatile attacker, he is not an out-and-out striker. Unless the Red Devils get a good deal on him, it would be wise to make a move for someone else.
