David de Gea praises Erik ten Hag made for Manchester United substitutions vs Bournemouth

Manchester United star David de Gea has praised the substitutes that Erik ten Hag made in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League. The Spaniard is delighted with the victory.

The Red Devils side welcomed the Cherries at home on Tuesday (3 December). We ended up winning the match comfortably with goals from Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford.

Speaking after the victory to MUTV via Manchester Evening News, De Gea praised the whole squad for the dedication they have been showing in the current campaign. The 32-year-old is also happy about the options the Old Trafford side have on the bench.

“We have a great team, everyone is in the same direction, training 100 per cent, it’s great to see. It’s massive for us [to have strength in depth], everyone is ready to play and the substitutions today were also great, I feel really happy with all the players.”

Ten Hag made a few changes in the starting lineup from our previous game. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof starting in the back four was a major decision by the gaffer.

The England and Sweden nationals were decent at the back. Gary O’Neil’s team were unable to create many opportunities in the first half, with the Red Devils controlling the game. We went into the break with a one-goal advantage.

Unfortunately, just before the end of the first half, Ten Hag had to call upon his substitutes due to Donny van de Beek going off injured. Alejandro Garnacho replaced the Holland international.

In the second half, the Argentine made an impact, setting up Shaw in the 49th minute to double the Old Trafford side’s lead. The 18-year-old also hit the post.

Other changes at around the 70th-minute mark included Fred, Diogo Dalot and Anthony Elanga. Lisandro Martinez also came on just before the end of the fixture to get some valuable minutes.

All of the players who came on the pitch for United showed their class. De Gea was also pivotal, making some key saves. The Spaniard has now kept three consecutive clean sheets in the PL. Hopefully, we are able to do the same in our next league fixture against Manchester City.
