PSG forward Kylian Mbappe tipped as “£200 million footballer” amidst Manchester United links
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Kylian Mbappe has been tipped to be worth more than £200 million amidst tentative links to Manchester United.
According to the Mirror (h/t Manchester Evening News), the France international is being eyed by the Red Devils as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. The 37-year-old left the club midway through the season.
As a result, Erik ten Hag’s attacking options have dwindled. Thus, the gaffer has admitted that the Old Trafford side were looking to reinforce their attack in January. However, a move for the 24-year-old is out of the question in the ongoing transfer window.
Speaking to GiveMeSport (h/t MEN), transfer insider Dean Jones believes Mbappe would cost a huge penny for any side looking to buy him from PSG.
“Someone who’s just scored a hat-trick in a World Cup final, it’s the look of a £200m footballer. There’s no doubt about it.
“You hear at the moment Jude Bellingham being talked about as perhaps a £130m footballer, use that as a marker if you like for Mbappe, who is the ultimate game-changing forward. So it’ll be upwards of £200m from that standpoint.”
The 24-year-old joined the Parisians from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017. Since then, he has been one of the best forwards in world football, scoring and assisting a number of goals.
In the previous campaign, the France international made 46 appearances in all competitions for PSG. He found the back of the net 39 times and provided 26 assists.
Mbappe was also the key player for Didier Deschaps’ team at the 2022 World Cup. The 24-year-old scored a hat-trick in the final as he helped France make a comeback against Argentina. However, Les Bleus fell short in the penalty shootout.
Ten Hag only has one natural striker in Anthony Martial at his disposal at the moment. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old has struggled to remain fit for most of the campaign.

Thus, we evidently need to add another number nine to the squad. However, it seems unlikely that a player of Mbappe’s stature would want to move to the Old Trafford side, considering our lack of success in recent years.
