Paul Parker urges Manchester United to sign Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic to bolster the attack
Manchester United have been urged to sign Fulham star and Serbia international Aleksandar Mitrovic to bolster their attack by Paul Parker. The ex-Red Devil is impressed by the forward’s goal scoring ability.
The 28-year-old has been a key player for the Cottagers since his move from Newcastle United in the winter window of 2018. But this season, the striker has taken his game to the next level.
Speaking to BonusCodeBets (h/t Manchester Evening News), Parker, who spent five years at the Old Trafford side during his playing career, feels Mitrovic could thrive at Man United.
“I really think that Mitrovic could be a very good signing for Man United. When you have him on your team you can put the ball into the box at any time and he will most likely score a goal.
“He has improved discipline-wise and he really knows how to get into defenders’ heads. I can really see him being an important player for Man United.”
The Serbian star has been in fine form for Fulham in the current campaign. He has found the back of the net 10 times in 13 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers.
Last season, the 28-year-old broke the goalscoring record in the Championship. The striker scored 43 goals in the second tier of English football in the previous term as Marco Silva’s team were promoted to the PL.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Man United just before the start of the 2022 World Cup. The 37-year-old had been a key player coming off the bench in the current campaign.
Now, Erik ten Hag is keen on adding a new striker to the team. Anthony Martial is the only natural number nine in the squad at the moment. However, the France international has struggled with injuries this season.
Marcus Rashford has been deployed up front on a number of occasions by the Dutch manager. The 25-year-old has done well leading the line at the Old Trafford side this term.

However, the Red Devils evidently lack an out-and-out striker in the team. Mitrovic has developed into a quality player over the years. However, it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old will be an option for the Manchester-based club further down the line.
