David de Gea has his say on Manchester United summer signings
Speaking to the club media as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Spanish goalie David de Gea has had his say on the players brought in at Manchester United last summer. He provided a positive appraisal of the quality the newcomers bring into the squad.
Manchester United had quite a solid transfer window back in July-August. They signed quite a number of players and most of them have had a really huge impact on the team and have proven why Erik ten Hag wanted them.
The Red Devils signed Antony, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia amongst others. All these players have had a good time at Old Trafford so far and have proven to be crucial for the team.
A case can be made for Licha Martinez being the Red Devils’ best player in the first half of the season. In fact, there could also be a case made for the Argentinian being the best signing of the Premier League so far.
Eriksen has come in on a free transfer and absolutely revolutionized the Man United midfield. The Dane has really shown his quality since joining the club and has taken a lot of pressure from Bruno Fernandes.
Speaking about the influence of the signings that Man United have made, here is what De Gea had to say
“They brought to the team a lot of experience for sure. Experienced players with many games already. They bring passion to the club as well as desire. I think all of them, they want to win, that’s the most important thing and of course, they’re quality
players, good players – so we signed really good players.”
Despite a number of incoming and outgoings in the Red Devils squad, one person who has been a constant in the Man United team for so many seasons now is none other than their first-choice goalie David de Gea.
The Spanish shot-stopper will know that along with the experience the signings bring to the table, his own experience is outright essential for the Red Devils to have a good second half to the season and continue the good work under Ten Hag.
