Agent of Facundo Pellistri looking for a permanent exit from Manchester United in January

Edgardo Lasalvia, the agent of Manchester United star Facundo Pellistri, is looking for a permanent exit for his client after the Uruguay international did not feature against Burnley, according to the Express (h/t Mirror).

The Red Devils took on the Clarets on 21 December in the Carabao Cup fourth round. Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford found the back of the net as we won 2-0 at home.

Lasalvia is searching for a transfer away from the Old Trafford side, as the 21-year-old does not prefer another loan move. He had already been sent out to Spanish side Deportivo Alaves on a temporary deal in previous campaigns.

Pellistri signed for United in the summer of 2020 from Penarol. However, he is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils’ senior side since then.

The 21-year-old joined Alaves in the winter window of 2021. He went back on loan to the La Liga outfit for the 2021/22 season. However, in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish side during the youngster’s time in Basque Country, he was unable to find the back of the net.

Although Pellistri has been underwhelming over the last few years, he shone for his national side in Qatar. The 21-year-old played in every group-stage fixture for Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup. But La Celeste were unable to make it to the knockout rounds.

While the former Peanrol star has struggled at United, other youngsters like Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga have been given many opportunities since last season. The Sweden international was a regular fixture under Ralf Rangnick, while the Argentine has impressed in the current campaign.

The Dutch manager gave the 18-year-old his full debut against FC Sheriff in the group stages of the Europa League. Garnacho has gone on to put in some clutch performances for us over the last few matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has dwindled Ten Hag’s options up front. However, if the gaffer does not count on Pellistri, it would be wise to let go of the youngster to further his development.
