Manchester United are out of the running to land the signature of England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to Sky Sports Germany via Football Daily on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).

While the Red Devils are not in the race, several other top European clubs are interested in the 19-year-old. Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are some of the frontrunners to sign the midfielder.

European Champions Real Madrid are also eyeing Bellingham. However, BVB are not going to make it easy. The Bundesliga outfit want between £120–150 million for the England international.

The 19-year-old joined Dortmund in the summer of 2020 from Birmingham City. Since then, the youngster has gone from strength to strength and developed into one of the best midfielders in the world.

In the current campaign, Bellingham has made 22 appearances for BVB in all competitions. He has found the back of the net nine times and provided three assists.

The 19-year-old is also currently thriving with the England national side in Qatar. He has started every game for the Three Lions at the World Cup so far. The midfielder put on a show against Senegal in the round of 16 as Gareth Southgate’s team won 3-0.

United’s middle of the park has quality as well. Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes have been the preferred trio in the engine room. And the three midfielders have impressed this season under Erik ten Hag.

However, strength in depth is seemingly an issue for the Red Devils. When either Eriksen or Casemiro have been absent, the Old Trafford side have not looked their best.

Bellingham is a generational player. The 19-year-old is capable of leading any team’s engine room for years to come. Hopefully, United are able to conjure up a deal and beat the other clubs in the race to land the England international’s signature.
