Eric Wynalda urges Chelsea and USMNT star Christian Pulisic to snub Arsenal for Manchester United
The United States national team icon Eric Wynalda has urged Chelsea star Christian Pulisic to snub Arsenal for a move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.
After a few underwhelming years in West London, the Blues are now willing to cut their losses on the 24-year-old. The Stamford Bridge side are open to considering a loan move in January for the American or a permanent transfer next summer.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund star is not shy of suitors in England. Premier League table-toppers have been linked with him, while the Red Devils are also interested in the forward.
Speaking to VegasInsider on YouTube (h/t Metro), Wynalda, who holds 106 caps for the USMNT, has advised Pulisic not to move to Arsenal. Instead, the former forward likes the idea of his compatriot signing for United.
“I’m not sure Arsenal as a destination is a good fit for Christian Pulisic. But I really like the idea of him going to Manchester United. With Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club there will be a new vibe with that team.”
The 24-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at BVB and subsequently made a mark in the first team. After lighting up the Bundesliga, Chelsea snapped him up and the forward arrived in the summer of 2019.
After initially putting in decent displays, Pulisic has failed to live up to the expectations at the Stamford Bridge side. He has not managed to get into the plans of either Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter.
Arsenal are currently flying high in the league. The Gunners are five points ahead of Manchester City in the table. However, Mikel Arteta’s team evidently lacks depth, with Gabriel Jesus being backed up by Edie Nketiah.
On the other hand, the Red Devils recently lost Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese icon’s abrupt exit from the club has dwindled Erik ten hag’s attacking options.

Thus, we evidently need reinforcements up front. However, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be willing to send their player to a direct rival in the upcoming transfer window. We have signed players from Chelsea in the past, however, with Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic being two of the most recent examples.
