Manchester United to battle Leeds United and Roma for Torino and Serbia midfielder Sasa Lukic
Manchester United are interested in signing Torino and Serbia star Sasa Lukic, with Leeds United and Roma also eyeing the midfielder, according to Torino Granata (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils will have to battle the Premier League and Serie A outfits for the 26-year-old’s signature. His current contract at the Italian side expires in the summer of 2024.
As of yet, Il Toro are yet to receive an offer for Lukic. The midfielder joined the Maroons in the summer of 2016 from Partizan Belgrade in his home country.

The 26-year-old also spent some time on loan with Levante in Spain. However, since the 2018/19 season, the Serbian has been a regular in the Italian side’s first team.
Lukic is a versatile player capable of playing in the holding role, as a box-to-box midfielder and in the number 10 position. In the current campaign, he has made 14 appearances for Torino in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing an assist.
Currently, the 26-year-old is in Qatar with Serbia. He started in the Eagles’ Group G fixtures against Brazil and Cameroon. They will face Switzerland next on Friday (2 November).
Leeds’ are currently struggling in the English top flight. Jesse Marsch has the likes of Tyler Adams and Marc Roca. On the other hand, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are currently seventh in Serie A. The Serbian would not have to move far if he signed for the Giallorossi.
Man United’s current midfield consists of the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes. The trio have cemented their place in Erik ten Hag’s engine room.
However, the Red Devils’ bench has Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek as the options for the middle of the park. And the three have been underwhelming or inconsistent whenever they are called upon.
