Jorge Mendes offers Atletico Madrid and Portugal star Joao Felix to Manchester United
Manchester United have been offered the signature of Atletico Madrid and Portugal star Joao Felix by superagent Jorge Mendes, according to Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Mirror).
The 23-year-old has been touted as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at the Old Trafford side. After the 37-year-old’s controversial interview with Piers Morgan, he left the club by mutual agreement.
Felix is someone who is not happy with Los Rojiblancos at the moment. The Portuguese is fed up with how he is being treated by Argentine manager Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital.
As a result, the 23-year-old is hoping for an exit from Atletico. The Old Trafford side, alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, are in the mix to sign the forward. But the former SL Benfica star has an £85 million price tag on his head.
The Parisians already have a stacked front line with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lione Messi. It is difficult to envision where Felix would fit in. On the other hand, the Bavarians have not yet truly replaced Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022.
The Portuguese youngster is currently in Qatar with his national side. Fernando Santos’ team have booked their place in the World Cup’s round of 16 with wins over Ghana and Uruguay.
For United, the departure of Ronaldo has dwindled the number in the attack. Anthony Martial is now the only natural striker at Erik ten Hag’s disposal. Unfortunately, the France national has found it difficult to stay fit this season.
Thus, the Dutch manager has relied on Marcus Rashford to lead the line. The 25-year-old has been decent. However, his end product leaves fans wanting more.

Felix is yet to replicate the displays he showed at Benfica on a regular basis in Spain. However, if United are able to get a cut-price deal on him, the 23-year-old’s signing is something that should be considered.
