Erik ten Hag warns England and Manchester United star Jadon Sancho and asks for more ‘commitment’

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his unhappiness with England and Manchester United star Jadon Sancho and has asked for more ‘commitment’ from the 22-year-old, according to Spanish outlet AS (h/t Metro).

The forward is now looking to impress the Dutch manager. He was in the Netherlands recently to work with coaches recommended to him by the former Ajax head coach.

Sancho made his way to the Old Trafford side in the summer of 2021 from Borussia Dortmund. In Germany, the youngster had established himself as one of the best attackers. However, he has been unable to make an impact in Manchester as of yet.

Having joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2017 from Manchester City, the forward quickly developed into a quality player. The England international consistently got on the scoresheet and created chances for his teammates.

Unfortunately, Sancho did not live up to the expectations in his debut season with United. In 38 appearances, the winger scored five goals and provided three assists.

However, initially under Ten Hag, the 22-year-old seemed to have found his feet. But in recent weeks, the forward has been below par in his performances.

On the other hand, the other attackers in the squad, such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho, have thrived. The young Argentine is staking a claim to be in the starting lineup with his displays.

Gareth Southgate also left Sancho out of his 26-man World Cup squad. During Euro 2020, he was one of the Three Lions’ key players.

Thus, the 22-year-old needs to convince fans once again of his qualities. There is no doubt that the youngster has talent. But he needs to showcase that consistently.
