Manchester United could reignite interest in France and Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot

Manchester United could reignite their interest in France and Juventus star Adrien Rabiot after failing to agree on a deal in the summer of 2022, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t Express).

The 27-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract at the Old Lady. As a result, the midfielder could negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.

Rabiot almost joined the Old Trafford side in the recent transfer window. However, the Manchester-based were not keen on the personal terms being demanded. Thus, a move did not materialise.

But United could now revisit the 27-year-old’s signing, which would be a free transfer. Unfortunately, Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping an eye on the French national’s situation in Italy.

Most of the Blues supporters are concerned about the futures of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho at the Stamford Bridge side. Spurs fans are also crying out for a creative midfielder, with Rodrigo Bentacur the only quality attack-minded midfielder in their squad.

Rabiot joined Juventus in the summer of 2019. Since then, he has been a regular member of the Serie A outfit’s starting lineup. However, he has flourished in the last few weeks for the Bianconeri.

The 27-year-old has also made a place for himself in Didier Deshamps’ plans. He has been pivotal so far for Les Bleus at the World Cup in Qatar.

United ended up signing Casemiro on top of the addition of Christian Eriksen in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian has formed a decent partnership alongside the Danish national in the middle of the park.

However, a lot of supporters are not happy with the bench strength in the middle of the park. The likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have been underwhelming for the most part. Thus, bringing in a player like Rabiot would evidently improve the depth in our squad.
