Ecuador and Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo being eyed by Manchester United
Manchester United are planning to enter the race for Ecuador and Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo amidst interest from a number of clubs, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
Several top clubs are eyeing the 21-year-old’s signature. Premier League rivals Liverpool also have the midfielder on their wish list alongside Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
Caicedo has earned rave reviews from his teammates, who have praised the midfielder’s quality and attitude. The Seagulls are keen on keeping hold of the Ecuador international, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2025 (transfermarkt).
The 21-year-old is currently with his national side in Qatar. La Tri have had an impressive group-stage campaign at the World Cup so far. They beat Qatar 2-0 in their opening game at Al Bayt Stadium.
Gustavo Alfaro’s team took on the Netherlands in their second match in the Middle East. Ecuador managed a 1-1 draw against the Oranje. They take on Senegal in their final Group A fixture and have a good chance of qualifying for the knockout rounds.
Caicedo has played every minute for El Tri at this year’s edition of the prestigious tournament. The 21-year-old has put in impressive displays in both fixtures so far.
The midfielder has also been impressive for Brighton in the Premier League. When United faced the Seagulls in August, he started and we lost 2-1 in Erik ten Hag’s first competitive fixture in the Old Trafford side’s dugout.
The Red Devils have bolstered the engine room with the arrival of Casemiro and Christina Eriksen in the summer of 2022. The duo have become prominent in the Dutch manager’s plans in Manchester.
