Manchester United not keen on paying €100 million to Napoli for ‘top target’ Victor Osimhen

Napoli star Victor Osimhen is one of the top targets for Manchester United. However, the Red Devils are not keen on splashing €100 million on the Nigeria international, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Old Trafford side are interested in the 23-year-old. And the club hierarchy feel the forward is ready for the Premier League. The striker’s speed, physicality and finishing make him a compelling buy.

Osimhen is currently in red hot form for the Partenopei. The Serie A giants are currently top of the table in Serie A. In the Champions League group stages this season, the Italians were equally impressive, finishing top of Group A.

The Nigerian has been pivotal in Luciano Spalletti’s plans at Napoli. In 14 appearances for the Partenopei in all competitions in the current campaign, the striker has scored 10 goals and provided three goals.

Before the 23-year-old’s move to Naples, he was spectacular in France with LOSC Lille. For the Nigerian national side, the forward has found the back of the net 15 times in 23 caps.

United’s attacking options have evidently dwindled with Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club. The 37-year-old was our leading goalscorer last season. Although, the Portuguese would have struggled to replicate that feat in the current campaign.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been Erik ten Hag’s preferred options to play up top. The Dutch manager has put faith in the England international, with the former AS Monaco star consistently on the sidelines.

Ronaldo was getting regular opportunities in recent weeks. However, we are now left with a man short in the attack.
