Lous Saha claims this Manchester United star is at the “same level as Kylian Mbappe”

Louis Saha claims Manchester United and England star Marcus on “the same level” as France international Kylian Mbappe

Former Manchester United star Louis Saha believes England forward Marcus Rashford is on “the same level” as France and Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence in the current campaign under Erik ten Hag. He is currently the Red Devils’ leading goalscorer this season, having found the back of the net eight times in all competitions.

Speaking to Lord Ping (h/t Manchester Evening News), Saha, who spent four years at the Old Trafford side, revealed that Rashford was his favourite player in the Three Lions’ squad. The former striker is of the opinion that, on form, the 25-year-old is as good as Mbappe.

“Kane is the best player, but Rashford is my favourite player in the England squad because of his style and I really enjoy watching him play. When Rashford has the eye of the tiger, he’s unplayable and at the same level as Kylian Mbappe.”

The England international broke into the United squad in the 2016/17 campaign. Since then, the forward has done well to establish himself in the Red Devils’ starting lineup.

However, last season was a bit of a letdown from Rashford. The academy graduate was underwhelming for the Old Trafford side, struggling to make an impact when on the pitch.

The 25-year-old seemed devoid of confidence whenever he stepped on the pitch in the previous campaign. However, the new gaffer has evidently helped the England international find his feet to a certain degree once again.

Ten Hag has predominantly used Rashford in the centre-forward position this season at United. The Dutch manager preferred to use the 25-year-old over Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup.

With Anthony Martial out injured for most of the campaign, the England international has evidently stepped up his game and become our talisman. However, most fans would admit that the forward has a long way to go before being compared to the PSG superstar.

Some supporters are still unsure about the academy graduate’s finishing. Thus, while Rashford has been good for the Red Devils and the England national side, there are still aspects he needs to improve.
