Avram Glazer speaks about Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Manchester United

Speaking in an interview with @SkyNews as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United owner Avram Glazer has spoken about the exit of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after his contract was terminated.

The club reached a mutual agreement with their former star to end his contract early with immediate effect and Ronaldo, who is now on international duty with Portugal in Qatar for the World Cup finds himself without a club.

Once the World Cup is over, there is no doubt that the Portugal star will want to make a decision on his future. This competition though provides him the perfect opportunity to show potential buyers that he is still the same old player.

Ronaldo has struggled at Man United this season, failing to influence games like he once used to. The talented 37-year-old has been benched on multiple occasions and just doesn’t look like the player he once was.

The former Real Madrid superstar eventually fell out with Erik ten Hag. It seemed like he could not continue at the club any longer with the manager no longer trusting him, and it was wise that both parties came to this decision.

Speaking about the player, Avram Glazer was full of praise for a player who has had a really good time at Old Trafford for most parts.

“Well, I’ll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo – he’s a great Manchester United player, I appreciate everything he’s done for the club. I wish Ronaldo the best luck in the future”

This is definitely not how we wanted it to end for one of the greatest Manchester United players of all time but there was a feeling that Ronaldo’s legacy at the club was getting tarnished and it was a good thing that it ended when it did.

The Portuguese superstar will now want to put this aside and focus on his national team. It is not easy to win the World Cup and Ronaldo will be hoping to add the elusive trophy to his cabinet in arguably his last World Cup.
