Borussia Dortmund and Germany star Youssoufa Moukoko yet to decide on future amidst Manchester United links
Germany star Youssoufa Moukoko, who Manchester United are being linked with, is yet to decide about his future at Borussia Dortmund. However, the 17-year-old is currently at ease at Signal Iduna Park side.
The youngster has been in fine form this season for BVB. And a lot of clubs are keeping an eye on him. In the Premier League, the Red Devils and Liverpool are being linked with the forward.
Speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Moukoko hinted at being focused in the World Cup with Hansi Flick’s team. But the youngster admitted his future is still open.
“I haven’t spoken to Hansi Flick about it at all yet. But then again, we’re not at Borussia Dortmund, we’re here with the national team at a World Cup, I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I feel the confidence of the coach. You’ll find out in the end whether I decide to stay or not.”
The 17-year-old has been included in Die Mannschaft’s 26-man squad, who are set to commence their World Cup campaign on 23 November against Japan in Group E. The youngster was handed his debut for the national side on 16 November, 2022 in a 1-0 friendly win over Oman.
At Dortmund, the forward is having somewhat of a breakout campaign this term. BVB manager Edin Terzic has used him much more regularly in recent weeks.
In 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season, Moukoko has scored six goals and provided six assists. He has consistently led the line for the German club.
At United, uncertainty surrounds the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. His recent comments about not respecting Erik ten Hag and feeling “betrayed” by the club have put question marks on his remaining time in Manchester.
With the arrival of the Dutch manager, the 37-year-old has been mostly used as a substitute. Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial have been preferred ahead of the Portugal international in the number nine position.
