Palmeiras academy director compares Endrick to Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo
Joao Paulo Sampaio, the academy director of Palmeiras, has compared Endrick to Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. He believes the 16-year-old has the potential to make it to the top in football.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Brazilian wonderkid. And the youngster has a €60 million release clause in his current contract, which the Brasileirao outfit are expected to hold out for.
Speaking to Spanish outlet AS (h/t Manchester Evening News), Sampaio expects Endrick to be a world-class talent. And without any injury issues, the 16-year-old has been tipped to be the best in the future.
“If injuries respect him, I don’t see a ceiling for him. As far as is humanly possible.
“He has quality, a strong personality and a champion mentality. In that regard, he resembles Cristiano [Ronaldo]. He trains hard, is kind and has humility. We love him very much because he makes himself loved. He tries to please everyone around him.
“He has everything to be a world star in the future.”
The Brazilian star has taken the footballing world by storm in recent weeks. He became the youngest player to feature for the Verdao’s senior side. In August, the youngster made his debut for the first team in a 4-0 win against Coritiba in the Brasileirao, playing around 20 minutes.
Endrick also became Palmeiras’ youngest goalscorer soon after his maiden appearance for the senior side. In a 3-1 victory over Athletico Paranaense, the 16-year-old scored a brace in a 45-minute cameo.
Overall, the Brazilian has made seven appearances for the Brasileirao outfit in the top flight. And the youngster has found the back of the net three times and provided one assist.
United have a number of talented youngsters in their youth ranks. The likes of Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage turned many heads with their performances in the pre-season friendlies.
Other prospects who have managed to break into the senior side include Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga. The Argentine star has especially performed well in the last few fixtures.

Endrick is currently one of the hottest prospects in world football. And it would be wise for the Old Trafford side to invest in their future with the likes of the 16-year-old.
