Palmeiras youngster Endrick reveals “dream” to play in Europe amidst links to Manchester United
Palmeiras star Endrick has revealed his “dream” to play in Europe one day amidst links to Manchester United. The 16-year-old admits that he follows the top leagues in football.
The Brazilian wonderkid has been linked with several big clubs around the world. Chelsea lead their Premier League rivals for the forwards signature. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in him.
However, European sides looking at Endrick’s signing will have to wait a bit. They will not be able to buy the Brazilian until he turns 18 in 2024 due to immigration rules. But that has not stopped a number of teams from already laying the groundwork.
Speaking to TV Gazeta (h/t Express), Endrick suggested that he could play in any country. However, the youngster wants to move to a team where he can get regular opportunities.
“There’s the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1. I play video games a lot, I make a career out of playing. I watch all the leagues, I play in all the leagues, practically. I see myself playing in any league.
“My dream is to play in Europe, but what I want is to be playing. I’m focused on Palmeiras, and I don’t care where I’ll be playing in the future.”
The 16-year-old became the youngest player to feature for the Verdao last month. The Brazilian made his debut for Palmeiras in a 4-0 win against Coritiba in the Brasileirao.
Endrick subsequently became the youngest goalscorer for the Brazilian outfit with his brace against Athletico Paranaense in the league. The Verdao ended up winning the fixture 3-1.
Overall, the 16-year-old has played in seven games for Palmeiras in the Brasileirao. He has found the back of the three times and assisted one goal.
United already have a host of prospects in their ranks. Alejandro Garancho has recently broken out and shown glimpses of his talent. The 18-year-old has come in clutch in the last few fixtures he has featured in.
Some fans of the Old Trafford side are also looking forward to the likes of Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage breaking into the first team. And we also have a promising bunch of players out on loan as well.
