Cristiano Ronaldo names three Manchester United players he admires

Speaking in the TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo names three current Manchester United players he admires and sees a lot of potential in.

Ronaldo, who has been doing a lot of talking in recent days for a change had something nice to say about his teammates. The players he named as the ones that he admires are Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.

Casemiro is a world-class player and his credentials need no establishment. The former Real Madrid midfielder who joined the Red Devils this summer has spent a lot of his career with Ronaldo and it is no surprise that he was picked.

A case could be made for Diogo Dalot being the most improved Man United player in the last 12 months. Finally trusted with a starting role, the Portuguese right-back is showing his full repertoire of skills and really impressive.

Finally, let’s get to Lisandro Martinez. Anyone who had doubts if the Argentinian can succeed in the Premier League, the 24-year-old has put all those doubts to bed and how! Martinez is arguably the signing of the season in the English top flight, at least until now.

Speaking in the interview, Ronaldo singled out these players for special praise and it will be a confidence boost for them to hear something like that.

“In Manchester United I can mention Dalot, he’s young, but very professional but I don’t doubt that he’s going to have longevity in football because he’s young, he’s smart, intelligent and he’s very professional. Probably [Lisandro] Martinez, Casemiro is in his 30s, but I will say Dalot.”

All the aforementioned players and Ronaldo are now out on international duty as they look to help their respective nations win the coveted World Cup trophy. Dalot in particular can help Ronaldo achieve his long-time dream.

Ronaldo may not be in the best of club form but any team that decides to underestimate the Portuguese superstar can do it at their own peril. The 37-year-old has shown time and again that he will prove his critics wrong and Portugal will be hoping that is the case.
