Manchester United open to letting Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejoin Crystal Palace in January transfer window
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be on his way back to his former club Crystal Palace in January as Manchester United are keen on offloading the defender, according to The Sun (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils will let the 24-year-old leave in the upcoming transfer window after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag. However, while the Old Trafford side want a permanent solution, the Eagles would only be open to a loan deal.
Thus, the two clubs still have ‘some negotiating’ to do in order for the England U21 international’s return. The right-back’s current contract with the Manchester-based club expires in the summer of 2024.
Wan-Bissaka made his way to United in 2019 from Palace after impressing at Selhurst Park. His defensive abilities were what caught many fans’ eyes.
However, the 24-year-old has been unable to replicate that form in Manchester. And some supporters have also been disappointed in the right-back’s lack of quality in the final third of the pitch.
Still, he was an ever-present in the starting lineup under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian preferred the England U21 international over Diogo Dalot. And the Portugal international found it hard to get into the team on a regular basis.
However, with the departure of Ole, Wan-Bissaka’s fortunes with the Old Trafford side changed. He saw himself fall down the pecking order behind Dalot.
The former FC Porto star was the preferred choice for Ralf Rangnick. And the England U21 international saw his standing in the squad shrink.

Unfortunately, it has been the same for Wan-Bissaka under Ten Hag. The defender has seen just four minutes of game time this season, coming on as a substitute against Liverpool. Thus, it would be wise for United to part ways with the right-back and find a suitable replacement.
