Brazil midfielder Casemiro voted October 2022 Player of the Month for Manchester United
Manchester United and Brazil midfielder Casemiro has been voted as the Old Trafford side’s Player of the Month for October 2022, according to the club’s official website.
Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford were also nominated for the award. However, the 30-year-old pipped them to the honour.
Casemiro signed for the Red Devils from Real Madrid in the recent transfer window. He had established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders during his time in Spain, winning five Champions League titles with Los Blancos.
However, the Brazilian initially found it difficult to pip Scott McTominay from the starting lineup. The Scotland international was performing well during our winning run and Erik ten Hag opted to keep the team more or less the same.
Casemiro started in the Europa League in the months of September. However, a full 90 minutes in the English top flight eluded him.
The 30-year-old did get his first Premier League start last month against Everton at Goodison Park. The number 18 had a shaky start but managed to find his feet soon and assisted Cristiano Ronaldo’s 700th club career goal.
The Red Devils won 2-1 against the Toffees and the Brazilian picked up the Man of the Match award. Since then, he has been a pivotal member of the Old Trafford side’s starting lineup.
Casemiro’s passion and consistency have made him an instant fan favourite. In the draws against Newcastle United and Chelsea, where he scored a stoppage-time equaliser, the Brazilian was named the Man of the Match.
