Manchester United amongst several Premier League clubs interested in Stade Rennais forward Martin Terrier
Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, are interested in Stade Rennais forward Martin Terrier, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are monitoring the 25-year-old and have watched him play over the last two weeks. However, nearly half of the team in the English top flight have scouted the France U21 international.
In the recent transfer window, Terrier snubbed interest from other clubs and signed a new contract with Rennes until 2026. And the French outfit will be looking for a fee of over £30 million for him.
The 25-year-old signed for Les Rouge et Noir in the summer of 2020 from Olympique Marseille. And the forward came into his own last season for the Ligue 1 club, scoring 21 goals and providing seven assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
In the current campaign, the French national has been even more pivotal for Rennes. He has featured in 18 games in all competitions and has found the back of the net 11 times.
At United, goalscoring has been a concern for some fans. In the 2021/22 campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo was the only attacker to get on the scoresheet consistently. However, the Portugal international seems to be missing his shooting boots under Erik ten Hag.
While Marcus Rashford has been the talisman for us this season, the 25-year-old leaves a lot to be desired with his finishing. And apart from the England international, nobody has gotten the ball in the back of the net consistently.
The Dutch manager has preferred Antony, Jadon Sancho and Rashford in the starting lineup in the current campaign. Unfortunately, Anthony Martial has been on the sidelines for most of the season.

The Old Trafford side have decent quality out wide in the frontline. What we seemingly lack is a centre-forward.
Terrier has mostly played on the left wing at Rennes. However, the 25-year-old is also capable of playing through the middle. Thus, it remains to be seen whether the club opt to make a move for the French national in the coming transfer windows.
