Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has revealed that he enjoys training with summer 2022 singing Antony. The England international enjoys his battles with the Brazilian when they go head-to-head.

Antony signed for the Red Devils in the recent transfer window from Ajax. Since then, the 22-year-old has made an immediate impact in the side and has become a constant in the starting lineup under Erik ten Hag.

Speaking to the club’s official website (h/t Metro), Shaw is glad to be able to train alongside someone like Antony. The 27-year-old feels the Brazilian has grown from strength to strength in his short time in Manchester.

“We have good battles in training, and it’s really good to be able to train against someone like him with such high quality.

“Game by game, he’s getting better and better and, in the game against Newcastle, he was Man of the Match for me.”

Antony was one of Ten Hag’s most pivotal players during their time together in Amsterdam. The 22-year-old has similarly been crucial for the Dutch manager at United.

The Brazilian’s debut was impressive. He scored the opening goal against Arsenal at Old Trafford. The Red Devils ended up winning the game 3-1, the only side to beat the Gunners this season.

Subsequently, Antony scored in his first three Premier League games for the Old Trafford side. While he has shown glimpses of quality, fans feel there’s still a lot the forward can improve on.

Against Newcastle United, the game ended in a 0-0 draw. However, the 22-year-old stood out for taking on the opposition as well as helping the side during defensive transitions.

Shaw, on the other hand, has had a mixed season. The left-back lost his place in the starting lineup to Tyrell Malacia after the first two games of the campaign. However, the England international has come back strong. The 2-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch against Chelsea.
