Erik ten Hag praises Manchester United star Casemiro for the display against Chelsea
Speaking in the post-match press conference as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag has praised Manchester United midfielder Casemiro for his exceptional display against Chelsea in the Premier League last night.
Manchester United managed to draw 1-1 against Graham Potter’s men thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser from former Real Madrid superstar Casemiro whilst Jorginho scored a penalty for the Blues earlier.
It was an excellent first-half display from Manchester United who controlled the game from minute 1 and had a lot of chances to score goals. However, both teams went into the break with the score still at 0-0.
The second half however was a more even affair with Chelsea growing into the game pretty well. Ultimately, the 1-1 result was fair, and both teams will have to settle with a point a piece in the Premier League.
One player who was simply sensational for the Red Devils last night was Casemiro. The Brazilian superstar was excellent in midfield breaking up opposition tackles and playing wonderful passes to the forwards.
Ten Hag was full of praise for the midfielder for his display last night and explained his impact on the team.
“That is why we brought him in. We know he is capable to do that, he proved it in Spain, he proved it in the Champions League, so the highest level. So he could also do it in the Premier League”
After a slow
start to life in Manchester, Casemiro has broken into life in a Red Devils shirt. His performances have been getting better match after match and he has established himself as a starter for Erik ten Hag.
Casemiro is a player that the Red Devils have lacked for so long. He is the defensive midfielder that Man United were craving and with every passing day, this seems to be an excellent signing for the Red Devils.
