Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur to battle Manchester United in their interest for Victor Osimhen
Manchester United will face competition from Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is on Spurs manager Antonio Conte’s wishlist, according to journalist Enrico De Lellis.
The 23-year-old signed for the Serie A giants from LOSC Lille in the summer of 2020. And the Super Eagles forward has impressed during his time in Italy.
Speaking to Calciomercato (h/t Express), De Lellis revealed Conte has asked for the signature of Osimhen. He also revealed the Nigerian is admired by Bayern and United.
“The Napoli striker is also very popular with Bayern Munich and Manchester United, although the Germans closely follow [Benjamin] Sesko as well.
“The Nigerian is the classic Premier League footballer and it turns out to be the real goal of Tottenham.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, looked to take the Portuguese to Napoli. And the Nigerian was mooted to move to the Red Devils in the recent transfer window.
The Portuguese star’s future at the club is seemingly uncertain at the moment. And Erik ten Hag evidently does not have a lot of options to play in the number nine position.
Marcus Rashford has played the majority of the 2022/23 campaign as our centre-forward. The 24-year-old has contributed with crucial goals this season. However, fans feel the England international has not been clinical enough.
Anthony Martial is another option Erik ten Hag has at his disposal to play as a striker. However, the French forward has been on the sidelines for the majority of fixtures in the current campaign.
Osimhen has started the new season in fine form for Napoli. The 23-year-old has featured in eight games in all competitions for Gli Azzurri. And the forward has found the back of the net four times.
