PSG and Manchester United interested in move for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix next summer
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are interested in a move for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix next summer, according to AS (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 22-year-old is looking for a way out of Los Rojiblancos in the January transfer window. And the Red Devils are tipped to battle the Ligue 1 champions for the Portugal international’s signature.
The 22-year-old has not been a preferred choice for Diego Simeone during the 2022/23 campaign. And Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on Felix.
Felix signed for Atletico in 2019 from Portuguese side SL Benfica. The 22-year-old was expected to be a talent with great potential. However, the forward has seemingly struggled to adapt at the Madrid-based club.
The Portuguese has not developed as Atletico fans had hoped over the years. Under Simeone, the youngster has been in and out of the side. And the 22-year-old has been unable to cement his place in the starting lineup.
Felix started the new season on the front foot. He provided three assists in the opening game of the campaign in La Liga against Getafe. However, since then, the Portuguese has failed to contribute to the side.
And the 22-year-old has seen his game time dwindle in recent weeks. The forward was on the bench in Atletico’s recent 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish top flight.
Erik ten Hag has a number of options up front. However, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future seemingly uncertain and Anthony Martial’s apparent fitness issues, fans want the Red Devils to bolster the frontline.
