Erik ten Hag reveals he told players it was “enjoyable” watching Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that he told the players it was “enjoyable” watching them play against Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils dominated Spurs to win 2-0 at Old Trafford on 19 October in the Premier League.

Fred opened the scoring for Man United a few minutes after the start of the second half. The Brazilian’s deflected shot managed to beat Hugo Lloris. The French goalkeeper was beaten once again as Bruno Fernandes doubled the Red Devils’ lead in the 69th minute.

Speaking after the match via Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag disclosed that he was happy with the players and let them know the same after full-time.

“I’m pleased with the team, clear. I think it was the best team performance so far this season, so you see today we are developing.

“But I said to the lads in the dressing room it was really enjoyable it was to watch them.”

Many fans would agree the game against Antonio Conte’s team was one of the best by Erik ten Hag’s side this season. The Red Devils dominated Spurs in most periods of the game.

The Old Trafford side had concerted periods of pressure against the North London side. The whole team performed well and denied Spurs time on the ball.

Marcus Rashford had a number of chances in the game. The 24-year-old got in behind Tottenham’s defence a number of times. Only the heroics of Lloris denied the England international a goal.

In the middle of the park, the partnership of Fred and Casemiro managed to break up play and not allow Spurs to progress their attacks. The Brazilian duo showed glimpses of their partnership with the national side.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane got the better of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min on most occasions. The North London side rarely troubled David de Gea in goal.
