Erik ten Hag praises Casemiro for linking with Brazilian compatriot Fred at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is happy with the link between Brazilian compatriot Casemiro and Fred. The Dutch manager sees the duo getting better after each game.
The Red Devils signed the former Real Madrid star in the recent transfer window. And the 30-year-old has united with his national teammate in Manchester.
Casemiro and Fred have often started together under Tite for Brazil. And the midfield duo started their first game together in the Premier League against Newcastle United. However, the Old Trafford side were underwhelming in the 0-0 draw against the Magpies.
The Brazilians partnered up once again against Tottenham Hotspur on 19 October at Old Trafford. Casemiro and Fred put in decent displays as Man United dominated the middle of the park against Spurs. We won 2-0 against Antonio Conte’s team.
Fred got on the scoresheet for Man United against Tottenham. The 29-year-old broke the deadlock a couple of minutes after the start of the second half.
Speaking after the victory via the club’s official website, Ten Hag recognised the partnership between Casemiro and Fred. The Dutch manager is happy with the progress the former Madrid star has made since signing for Man United.
”Definitely, there is a link between them, that is clear.
”Casemiro is now at the side of him and we
see him developing and proving why we signed him.”He is growing from game to game
Casemiro had to bide his time initially before getting a chance in the starting lineup in the league. The Brazilian started his first PL game in the 2-1 win against Everton. And the 30-year-old picked up the Man of the Match award for his performance at Goodison Park.
On the other hand, Fred has struggled to get into the starting XI this season as well. The 29-year-old had found himself out of favour with Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen performing well.
