Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is “not satisfied” with the progress Manchester United have made this season. However, the Dutch manager also admits that he sees improvement in the team.

Ten Hag was appointed the Old Trafford side’s head coach at the end of the previous campaign. The Dutch manager had a successful spell at Ajax before arriving in Manchester. While the Red Devils did get off to a shaky start this season, the gaffer seems to have steadied the ship a bit.

Speaking to the media via the Express, Ten Hag expressed his dissatisfaction with where United are at the moment. However, the Dutch manager realises there will be improvements with time.

“I’m happy to be here, but I’m not satisfied with where we are. But I also know that I’m impatient. I think good is not good enough. We have to do better. I see many things that can go better.

“But I also see improvement, so when we keep going with this progress, we’ll improve more, and I will be even happier.”

The Red Devils lost their opening two games of the 2022/23 campaign to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. The result against the Bees was especially damaging as they scored four goals past us in the opening 35 minutes at the Gtech Community Stadium.

However, United then went on a four-game win streak in the Premier League. We have also been decent in the UEFA Europa League, barring the sole loss to Real Sociedad.

The Old Trafford side did falter in the derby, though. United visited the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City. Unfortunately, the Sky Blues got the better of us, beating the Red Devils 6-3.

Ten Hag was given a few signings to bolster the squad in the recent transfer window. And most of the additions have proved to be crucial this season.

Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Antony have made an immediate impact. It has taken Casemiro a bit of time to get his opportunities, but the Brazilian is also evidently slowly finding his feet.

The Dutch manager has brought his own ideas and style of play to Manchester. And it will evidently need time for the gaffer to impose himself onto the team. Thus, the club and the fans need to be patient with Ten Hag.
