Liverpool join Manchester United and Arsenal in race for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans
Manchester United have been joined by Liverpool in the race for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to calciomercato (h/t The Sun). Arsenal are also interested in the 25-year-old.
Tielemans is in his final year at the King Power Stadium. The Belgian is not expected to sign a contract extension with Leicester. And the 25-year-old will be free to talk to potential suitors outside of England come January.
However, Tielemans could leave on a cut-price deal to any of the Premier League clubs in January. Real Madrid and Juventus are also eyeing the former Anderlecht midfielder.
United signed two midfielders in the recent transfer window. Christian Eriksen was signed early in the summer as a free agent. The Danish national had previously been at Brentford for a short spell.
Eriksen has been a key member of the Red Devils’ team under Erik ten Hag. The 30-year-old has started every game for the Old Trafford side. And the Denmark international’s impact has been surprising for fans.
Casemiro also signed for United from Real Madrid. The Brazilian has been one of the best defensive midfielders for the past few seasons. The 30-year-old has won multiple league and Champions League trophies.
While the Red Devils have evidently strengthened the middle of the park, supporters feel the squad could do with more quality. The likes of Fred, Scott McTomina and Donny van de Beek have failed to convince fans in their years at the club.

Tielemans has impressed many in his time in the English top flight. The Belgian is one of the best creative players in Leicester’s engine room. However, the Foxes are currently in a rut, sitting at the bottom of the league table.
The 25-year-old would add quality to any of the top teams in Europe. Whether Tielemans arrives at the Old Trafford side in the upcoming transfer windows remains to be seen.
