Transfer News: PSV Eindhoven set asking price for Cody Gakpo amid Manchester United interest

Dutch side PSV Eindhoven have set an asking price of at least €45 million for their star winger Cody Gakpo, according to Football Transfers (h/t Leeds Live).

Should anyone pay that amount, the 23-year-old would become his sides club record sale, surpassing the Hirving Lozano move to Napoli back in 2019.

United were linked with a move for the winger this summer, but nothing came of it. Apart from them, rivals Leeds United, Southampton and Everton are also interested in the Netherlands international.

Gakpo has been in terrific form for his side this season. The winger has gotten off to a fantastic start this season, netting eight goals and notching six assists in seven league appearances.

The Red Devils bought in Antony this season from Ajax Amsterdam this summer. The 22-year-old has gotten off to a very good start and scored on his debut against Arsenal in a 3-1 win at home last month.

Adding Gakpo to this exciting squad would be a very good idea. With Marcus Rashford and Jordon Sancho also finding their form, adding the 23-year-old would help in adding depth and quality to the squad and also increase competition.

With Gakpo more than likely to go for the World Cup this November, many eyes would be on his performance. If he impresses, the price set could skyrocket. It will be interesting to see if any of the interested clubs make a move for him in January.
