Manchester United superstar Raphael Varane admits being confident for the current season
Speaking in an interview as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United superstar Raphael Varane has admitted that having had a proper pre-season behind him, he feels very confident about performing well this season.
Varane, who was away on international duty with the French national team, is set to return to club football this weekend. It is highly likely that the talented centre-back starts the game this weekend along with Lisandro Martinez in the backline against Manchester City.
The French World Cup winner joined Manchester United from Real Madrid at the beginning of last summer. In his first season at Old Trafford, Varane had a rather mixed season and took some time to adapt to England.

Varane is a world-class player in his own right. A serial winner with Real Madrid, there is not any silverware that the 29-year-old has not laid his hands on during his time in the Spanish capital for so many seasons.
Manchester United are finally getting to see what Varane is made up of. He has been solid at the back for Erik ten Hag and is showing signs of being the leader that he was along with Sergio Ramos back in Real Madrid.

Speaking about his fitness, Varane was very confident about the season ahead. He then stated that his good performances stem from him feeling better after a full pre-season with the club.
“At the start of the season, we had to fight on the pitch, we have to continue like that. I had a complete pre-season, I was able to work well on the physical level and I (hope to) continue. I feel better and it shows on the ground.”
After a rocky start to the season, Man United finally seem to be settling into some sort of a rhythm. Erik ten Hag finally seems to be putting all the jigsaws into the puzzle. Varane is one of the key cogs in the puzzle.
