Cristiano Ronaldo has been helping Marcus Rashford improve at Manchester United

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has been helping his team-mate Marcus Rashford improve his game. This is despite the latter having taken Ronaldo’s place in the team.

Ronaldo did a homecoming last summer when he joined the Red Devils from Juventus. But the season did not go according to plan and United finished sixth on the table and failed to win any trophy.

The Portuguese was the top-scorer for his side, netting an impressive 24 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions last season. The 37-year-old wanted to leave the club this summer and did not join the squad for their pre-season citing ‘family reasons’.

However, the transfer window passed by and the five-time Ballon D’or winner remained a Red Devil. The 37-year-old was dropped to the bench by new manager Erik ten Hag for the first game of the season which the club lost 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Rashford who had a disappointing last season seems to have found his form under Ten Hag. The forward has been phenomenal this season and has replaced Ronaldo to start as the striker for this United side.

Rashford has three goals and two assists in six league games for the Red Devils this season. And now, a source has told The Sun (h/t Daily Mail), that the Portuguese has been helping the England international improve his game at the club.

“He’s been spending time with him, talking about the game and giving his constructive criticism about positioning on the pitch. Marcus has been a bit surprised by it because it’s always difficult when you’re playing and a team-mate isn’t and you’re both fighting for the same position. But the relationship between the pair has never been better and Marcus knows he can learn a lot from him.”

This is very surprising, but at the same time shows the leadership skill of Ronaldo. The 37-year-old has been a role model to various people around the world, and helping Rashford will only do a world of good for United.
