Patrice Evra feels Manchester United are capable of springing a surprise in the Premier League
Manchester United icon Patrice Evra feels the Red Devils are a team that can emerge as a surprise package this season in the Premier League. The former left-back predicts the Old Trafford side to be competing with the best if they continue their fine form.
United started the 2022/23 campaign under Erik ten Hag on a disappointing note. The Red Devils lost their opening two games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Bretford. However, since then, we have gone on a four-game win streak in the league.
Evra was part of the United team that last won the English top flight under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012/13 campaign. And speaking to Betfair (h/t Mirror), while the French national picks Manchester City and Liverpool as favourites, he has not ruled out the Old Trafford side.

“It’s a crazy Premier League, there have been a lot of surprises. The favourites were Liverpool and City, but anything can happen.
“United can surprise people now if they keep fighting like the way they have been doing, they can be there.”
After the 4-0 loss at the Gtech Community Stadium, the Dutch manager made some changes to his starting XI. Ten Hag dropped the likes of Harry Maguire, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luke Shaw to the bench for the Liverpool game.
And against the Merseysiders, United got their first points on the board with a victory. The North West Derby ended 2-1 with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
The gaffer has stuck with an almost similar lineup since the Liverpool game. And the Red Devils have gone on to beat the likes of Southampton, Leicester City and Arsenal.
United were the first side to take points away from the Gunners. The North London side had a perfect start to the campaign before they visited Old Trafford. We beat them 3-1.
The Red Devils have since lost just once, that was against Real Sociedad in the Europa League. And that defeat came about as the gaffer rotated the squad.
