Manchester United amongst several clubs interested in AS Monaco right-back Vanderson
AS Monaco right-back Vanderson is attracting interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, who have started their initial moves, according to Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Barcelona are amongst the sides keeping an eye on the Brazilian. However, they face stiff competition from the likes of the Red Devils in the Premier League.
The Manchester-based club have ‘already begun to move to try to tie up’ Vanderson. United have a few options at their disposal for the right-back spot. However, it seems the club want to strengthen further.
Diogo Dalot for now has cemented his place in the starting XI. Erik ten Hag has chosen the Portugal international to be involved in every game from the start.
On the other hand, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has found himself on the periphery. The 24-year-old has not started a single game for the Red Devils this season. He has been afforded just four minutes of game time by the Dutch manager.
Who is Manchetser United target Vanderson?
Vanderson joined Monaco in the January transfer window of the 2021/22 campaign from Brazilian club Gremio. The 21-year-old has immediately become a vital member of the French outfit. The full-back featured 22 times in his debut season for the Ligue 1 outfit.
While primarily a right-back, the Brazilian has been played out wide in several positions, including in the attack. Philippe Clement has deployed the 21-year-old to great effect.
Fans who have seen Vanderson play regularly know that dribbling is one of his fortes. The Brazilian likes to stick into opponents and is defensively sound. He is also decent on set pieces.

If Wan-Bissaka continues to not be picked by Ten Hag, Dalot will have to bear the burden for the rest of the campaign. It would be wise to part ways with the former Crystal Palace star and bring in someone like Vanderson to provide support at right-back.
