Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird wins Queens Park Rangers award

Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird was awarded the Queens Park Rangers Man of the Match award for his performance against Stoke City, reports the Manchester Evening News.

QPR played out a goalless draw against Stoke and the right-back was the best player for his side. The youngster joined the Championship side last month and has been a hit among the fans there.

The 21-year-old was a constant threat down the right side and also performed his defensive duties without any hesitations. He has become a regular at his current side.

Laird has played all 90 minutes in seven games this season, scoring one and assisting another. This shows that he is trusted by his manager and has established himself well in the team.

The 21-year-old rose through the ranks of the United academy and spent the last season on loan at Swansea City and Bournemouth. After disappointing spells at both the clubs, he has rejuvenated himself at QPR.

But he is not the only United right-back to have rejuvenated himself. Diogo Dalot has also done the same for the senior team and is a trusted full-back for Erik ten Hag this season.

United will be happy with Laird’s progress. The 21-year-old can get huge playing experience under his belt this season and then could compete for a place with Dalot in the next.
