Club News: Manchester United handed double injury boost ahead of packed schedule

Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost ahead of next month’s packed schedule, with Donny van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri returning to training. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

Erik ten Hag was pictured putting his players through the pace, hours after they arrived from a 2-0 win against FC Sheriff in the Europa League.

United face a packed schedule in October with the club playing twice a week with a break of either three or four days in between each match. The return of the two players will only help in adding depth to the squad ahead of next month.

Van De Beek is yet to start a game this season for the Red Devils. The midfielder has played only three times this season, all as a substitute coming off the bench in the Premier League.

He has been missing from the last three matchdays and will look to improve his playing time next month. As for Pellistri, the 20-year-old is yet to feature for the club this season.

The Uruguayan international twisted his knee in a friendly against Atletico Madrid. This injury also proved to be a stumbling block that destroyed the chance for a late loan exit this summer.

With this weekend’s game against Leeds United getting postponed, the United fans will have to wait till next month to see their team in action. The Red Devils will make a short trip for a Manchester Derby on October 2.

The fixture for next month is packed and Ten Hag will be happy with the injury boost. Squad depth will play a very important role this season and maybe this will allow both the players to rack up some game time under their belts.
