Erik ten Hag feels Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has ‘much more room for improvement’
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has called for Jadon Sancho to do more after his impressive run of form. The Dutch gaffer feels the England international has the ability to be more impactful.
Sancho scored the opening goals against Sheriff Tiraspol in the second game of the 2022/23 Europa League group stage. The 22-year-old has been one of the Red Devils’ best players in the last few weeks and has shown why the Red Devils chased his signature when he was at Borussia Dortmund.
After the 2-0 win in Moldova, Ten Hag said, via The Daily Mail, he was happy about Sancho’s recent performances. However, the gaffer thinks that the England international can improve his game further.
“I’m really pleased [for Jadon Sancho].
“Another goal… he’s doing well, but I think there’s much more room for improvement for him, because he has so many skills.”
Sancho was bought by United from Borussia Dortmund last summer for a hefty fee. The 22-year-old had been ripping oppositions apart in the German league for a couple of years. And the Red Devils decided to pounce on him.
However, Sancho failed to deliver what fans expected from him in the 2021/22 campaign. In 38 appearances for United, the 22-year-old managed to score five goals and provide three assists.
In the Bundesliga, the England international was at his creative best. However, Sancho failed to settle into the Premier League in his debut season.
Under Ten Hag, though, the 22-year-old seems to have regained his confidence. The forward has evidently found his feet looking at his displays this campaign.
Sancho has been one of the gaffer’s preferred choices to start on the wings. The 22-year-old was the first United player to get on the scoresheet in the 2022/23 campaign when he found the back of the net against Liverpool.
