Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo could still leave Manchester United

According to AS [via Fichajes] (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could still leave the Red Devils this summer with the 37-year-old linked with a shock move to Turkey.

The transfer window in Europe has already closed but the window in Turkey is open until Sept 8. It is now being claimed that the former Real Madrid superstar could choose to move to Fenerbahce before the 8th of this month.

The Portuguese head coach of the club, Jorge Jesus is supposedly keen on signing the Manchester United star and it remains to be seen if a move to Turkey actually materialises in the next couple of days for Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with an exit from the club this summer. He has been linked to various clubs during the window but a move has not materialised and the 37-year-old has found himself stuck in Man United.

Ronaldo has not started off the season on the best of notes. He has found himself bunched for most of the matches and is yet to find the back of the net and the Portuguese forward looks like a man who doesn’t want to be here.

However, despite Ronaldo’s desire to leave the club, it seems almost impossible that he will choose to move to Turkey. Ronaldo might be 37 but he still wants to play for the best clubs and Fenerbahce might not excite him.

The 37-year-old will not get Champions League football if he goes to Turkey. Fenerbahce failed to get past the qualifying stages and it does not make sense for Ronaldo to leave Man United for the Turkish club yet.

If Ronaldo actually wanted to leave the club and move to another league, he might have chosen to move to Sporting Lisbon, his boyhood club this summer and play Champions League football for the Liga NOS club.
