Manchester United relaxed about Marcus Rashford situation amidst interest from PSG
PSG have always been interested in the signature of Manchester United superstar Marcus Rashford. However, no official bid has ever been made and the Red Devils are relaxed about the England international’s situation.
Rashford has come up through the youth ranks at United and has established himself in the side over the years. The 24-year-old has shown potential to be one of the best in the world. Given Paris Saint-Germain’s ambitions, it comes as no surprise that they are seeking his services.
Writing on his CaughtOffside column (h/t Manchester Evening News), transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham Hotspur have never made an attempt to get Rashford.
On the other hand, the Ligue 1 champions have had an eye on the England international for some time now. However, the French outfit have never put in a bid for the 24-year-old.
Also, while Rashford’s contract does expire next summer, United have an option to extend it till 2024. Thus, the Red Devils are not worried about his future.
“Despite some claims to the contrary, Tottenham have never approached Rashford this summer. PSG have always had an interest in the player, but there has never been an official offer.
“Rashford’s current contract expires in 2023, but Man United are relaxed because they have an option to extend the contract for another year until 2024, so more on that later.”
In the previous campaign, Rashford was one of the several players who failed to live up to fans’ expectations. The England international seems to have lost his form since the Euro 2020 final.
Rashford had one of his worst seasons in a red shirt in the 2021/22 campaign. The 24-year-old featured in 32 games for the Red Devils, scoring five goals and two assists.
However, after a slow start under Erik ten Hag, Rashford looks to be back to his former self. The England international has been pivotal as United have gone on a four-game win streak. And the opposition have included the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
