Crystal Palace have an eye on Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this transfer window
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is an option for Crystal Palace this transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones via Give Me Sport (h/t Mirror).
The Eagles are currently in pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare. However, if Palace failed to sign the French national, they would turn their attention to bringing McTominay to Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old United academy graduate has attracted interest from other club’s in the Premier League. Although the Scotland international has been a key member of the XI, the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid could change things.
McTominay has been a regular for the side over the last few years. The 25-year-old started 28 games in the PL for United in the previous campaign.
The Scotland international has started alongside Fred in the double pivot on a number of occasions. The two have been criticised by fans. The duo aren’t considered up to United’s standards.
McTominay started the first game of the new season under Erik ten Hag. The 25-year-old was given more freedom to move up the pitch, with Fred playing as the deep-lying midfielder. Unfortunately, the Scotland international had a poor game and United ended up losing 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Manchester-based club then faced Brentford and McTominay dropped to the bench. However, after the side conceded four goals in the first half against the Bees, the 25-year-old was subbed in after the break. The game ended 4-0.
With United getting off to one of their worst starts in the league in a long time, the whole squad came under scrutiny. McTominay was one of the players supporters pointed fingers at.

However, the Scotland international started and put in an impressive performance against Liverpool as we beat them 2-1. It remains to be seen whether Palace’s interest results in something concrete with the transfer window nearing its end.
