Erik ten Hag has identified Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe as the next players who will leave Manchester United this transfer window after Eric Bailly, according to The Telegraph (Subscription Required) [h/t Mirror].

The Ivorian defender has left the club and joined Olympique Marseille this summer. Now, the club is looking to find solutions for other defenders who are not in the Dutch manager’s plans for the 2022/23 campaign.

Wan-Bissaka signed from Crystal Palace in 2019. The England international was a regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, the 24-year-old has lost his place in the XI since the Norwegian’s departure.

Jones has had a horrible time with injuries in the last few years. The 30-year-old hasn’t been able to feature a lot for United. The former Blackburn Rovers star signed for the Manchester-based club in 2011. It seems his time at the club is nearing its end.

Tuanzebe is another player whose career has been hampered by injuries. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and Napoli.

The trio should leave for game time

Ten Hag has been afforded a few major signings this summer. Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen were the first two additions to the squad. Lisandro Martinez was the third signing. The Argentine is a versatile defender who’s started the first three games of the new season.

The Dutch manager has trusted Diego Dalot in his XI. The Portuguese has cemented his place in the team ahead of Wan-Bissaka. However, there aren’t a lot of options for Ten Hag to choose from for the right-back position.

The centre-back position, on the other hand, seemingly has strength in depth. Apart from Martinez, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are some of the players the Dutch manager can choose.

The trio who have been deemed surplus to requirements aren’t guaranteed game time. The best option for them would be to leave United and look for opportunities elsewhere.
