Napoli forward Hirving Lozano on Manchester United wishlist to strengthen attack
Manchester United have added Napoli forward Hirving Lozano to their long list of attacking targets this transfer window, according to Gianluca di Marzio (h/t Express).
The Mexico international is amongst a number of other targets the Red Devils are pursuing at the moment. United are interested in acquiring the 27-year-old’s services.
Lozano has also attracted the attention of Premier League rivals Everton. However, reaching an agreement for the player is a challenging task for any club pursuing the Mexican. The 27-year-old is a regular in the Serie A side’s XI.
The former PSV Eindhoven star joined Napoli in 2019. The Mexican’s performances in the Eredivisie prompted the Serie A giants to make Lozano an offer.
While the 27-year-old had a difficult start in Naples under Gennaro Gattuso, he ended up establishing himself at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Lozano is a pacy right-footed winger. The Mexican has played the majority of his games at Napoli on the right wing. The 27-year-old has featured 115 times for the Serie A giants, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists. He also has 56 caps for El Tri.
United are seemingly in search of reinforcements for the forward line. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, none of our attackers scored many goals last season. As a result, the Red Devils faltered in front of the goal.
The trend has continued at the start of the 2022/23 campaign. None of United’s forwards has gotten on the scoresheet in the first two fixtures against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. We only have an Alexis Mac Allister own goal to our name.
