Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has returned from injury; Erik ten Hag confirms
Jurgen Klopp has stated that Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is available for the Liverpool game. The German manager has claimed the 26-year-old has returned from injury. Erik ten Hag also confirmed the France international’s return to training.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference before the Merseysiders visit Old Trafford, via Liverpool Echo, Klopp said that he heard Martial was fit to play. The German then praised the France international’s abilities.
“I heard Martial can play now. Another boy with speed and technique. Quality in midfield; Eriksen, Fernandes, Fred – real quality.”
Martial has missed the first two competitive games of Ten Hag’s era at United after sustaining an injury during pre-season. The 26-year-old was on the sidelines for the defeats the Manchester-based club endured. We’ve gotten off to the worst start in the league for 101 years.

Ten Hag opted to start Christian Eriksen as a centre-forward against Brighton & Hove Albion. Martial wasn’t available. Cristiano Ronaldo came back to training in the final days of the pre-season.
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho started the game on the wings. The Seagulls scored two goals against us in the first half. United pegged a goal back. However, we dropped three points at Old Trafford as the game ended 2-1.
The Brentford game saw Ronaldo start the game as our number nine. Rashford and Sancho started once again. The Bees stung us with four goals in the first half. The game ended 4-0, giving fans a lot to think about.

United’s attack was unable to make an impact in either of the games. We created a few half-chances but failed to capitalise on them. The frailties in the midfield and defence haven’t helped our cause either.

“Victor has not returned to the training pitch, but the good news is that Anthony Martial is back in training with the team.”
It remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old starts against Liverpool. During pre-season, United beat the Merseysiders 4-0, with Martial getting on the scoresheet.
