Leicester City dismissed interest from Manchester United for star forward Jamie Vardy

Manchester United thought about a move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, but the Foxes aren’t interested in a transfer, according to Adam Crafton via Transfer News Live on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils are seemingly interested in bolstering their attack. The 35-year-old is an attacking option United have considered. But the King Power Stadium side aren’t keen on parting ways with the former England international.

Erik ten Hag doesn’t have a lot of senior options to deploy up front. The squad doesn’t have strength in depth up front. The Dutch manager had to start Christian Eriksen as the centre-forward in the first game of the season.

Jamie Vardy is a cult hero in the Premier League. The 35-year-old has exceeded a lot of people’s expectations and has become one of the best goalscorers in England over the years.

The Leicester forward holds the record for scoring in the most consecutive games in the PL. Vardy also has a golden boot to his name. The 35-year-old has consistently found the back of the net over the last few years.

United evidently require a prolific striker at the moment. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, none of our other attacking options consistently found the back of the net for the Red Devils.

The Portugal national team captain ended the previous campaign as our highest goalscorer. Bruno Fernandes was the other player to have double figures in terms of goals.

Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were below par in the previous campaign. The pre-season was promising, but the 2022/23 campaign has started on the wrong foot.

Vardy is an excellent number nine. He’s 35, but the Leicester forward still has a lot of pace to burn. United could do with someone with such abilities up front.
